About Us

The Phoenix Gold Mine is an authentic trip into Colorado mining history! Come by and tour a real underground gold mine where you will see gold ore in it's natural setting underground. Our tour guides and panning experts are knowledgeable and entertaining for all ages and abilities. Our gold panning lessons show you how to find gold. Depending on the weather, you can try your hand at panning in our panning table in the mine or in our gently flowing creek. You get to keep what you find while panning for gold. Gold is found daily and sometimes garnets!

The mountain setting is beautiful. You may only have time to spend an hour with us for a tour and panning lesson or you may want to spend a sunny day with us panning in the creek for hours. The covered picnic pavilion is located near the creek where you can enjoy your lunch and relax.

We are family owned and operated, giving tours since 1988. Our guest are warmly welcomed and when they leave the Phoenix Gold Mine, they have a memorable experience. Check us out on Discovery Channel's Reclaimed show, Dude Perfect and in the movie, ''Silver City.''

Let us know when you are coming, by making a reservation on our website or giving us a call. Reservations are recommended but we try to accommodate everyone if there is space available on the tour.
