Based on Tai Chi, these paintings use large colorful swirls representing energy to demonstrate how man, animal and landscape are all interconnected through a natural flow we can only sense, not see. Energist art is meditative in nature. The goal of Energist painters goes beyond simply creating a representation of spiritual energy and its effects on our world. They seek to draw the viewer in so he or she actually experiences the energy. The epitome of Energism Art would be a piece that when simply viewed would give the viewer a profound spiritual experience, a vision of pure energy, love and joy beyond expression. Because this vision is beyond expression, even by the most talented artist, Energism Art serves primarily as a catalyst or door through which the viewer travels for this experience. Energism started as a dream. Several years ago Ms. Watkins had a profound experience. She dreamt she floated without a body over a mountain lake. The landscape was made of every changing colorful energy swirls ... the world as it really is revealed to her. The place was familiar to her, wrapped in light and love, taking her back to a time before she was born. She awoke and created the painting First Dream. Main St. Breckenridge, CO Ph: 970-547-8399 About The Artist Artist Julia Watkins got her start as an international model which allowed her to travel and paint worldwide. She was admitted into the NC State School of Design at 16 years and within a year was allowed to take graduate level art classes. She spent four more years studying at the NYC Art Student's League. She has shown her work throughout the US and in Europe and Japan. She is a descendant of Tuskarora Indians inhabiting Okracoke Island, NC. How Energism Started After 20 years as an impressionist painter, in September 2004 Watkins had a life-altering dream which inspired Energism art. She awoke and painted "First Dream."
