JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Lead Creative Assistant

Reports to: Director

Pay and Schedule: $30/hour; 10-40 hours/week depending on scheduled events/programs. Position is from 6/1/2025-9/6/2025.

Supervises: Staff, Contractors, Volunteers, Children and Adult Participants

 

Summary: The Lead Creative Assistant is responsible for facilitating summer events and programs at a range of locations within Colorado. In this role, they will facilitate arts and crafts activities for all ages at indoor and outdoor venues. 

 

Requirements:

Must be able to drive and stage the business Sprinter Van. Must hold a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.  (Experience driving a large passenger vehicle/van is desired but not required).

 

Must be able to move and carry tables, chairs, and art supplies (up to 50 lbs) prior to and after events/programs.

 

Must enjoy working with people of all ages—especially children. Prior experience in education and/or previous work with children is strongly desired.

 

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Will be asked to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead private and public events/programs in accordance with event checklists.
  • Manage staff, contractors, and volunteers at events/programs.
  • Promote and provide information about The Frosted Flamingo at events/programs.
  • Maintain a safe, fun, and clean environment at all events/programs.
  • Manage and direct events/programs in accordance with The Frosted Flamingo’s mission statement and goals.

 

Other responsibilities may include:

 

Vehicle Maintenance and Cleaning

(upon request)

  •  Van inspection using checklist
  • Monthly car wash following vinyl guidelines
  • Refill diesel, DEF fluid, diesel antifreeze (winter only), and windshield fluid bi-monthly
  • Wash canvas tarps (if wet or soiled), rinse dirty brushes and paint trays, clean project trays, and water bowls.

 

Inventory and Packaging 

(upon request)

  • Conduct monthly inventory of materials/tools/kits, noting quantities and quality. 
  • Package project kits as directed.
     

Marketing

(as requested and during events/programs)

  • Distribute posters, seasonal flyers, and brochures to local hotels, property management companies and businesses as requested.
  • Photograph participant artwork and video event activity. Submit photographs/videos to the Director for marketing purposes.

 

Personnel

  • Assist the Director in developing staff schedules, assigning/monitoring tasks, resolving operational problems, and implementing new procedures.
  • Participate in an end-of-season evaluation with the Director.
  • Assist in covering for absent staff as needed.
